The sea turtle lives in the waters near Hanga Roa. Sitting on Pea beach to watch the turtles is an experience that you can have every day. This species was over-exploited by the ancient islanders and was even extinct in these waters for a while. Ten years ago a colony returned to enrich the natural fauna.
